I actually did eat mostly protein today and yesterday, but it was fried. I think my body is craving fat, and I fried it in canola oil, so I don't feel too bad. I also ate boiled peanuts a lot last week, more protein.

I'm buying groceries tomorrow, so I'm going to get unsalted peanuts and some almonds as well to add more protein and good fats.

I really do need to keep taking those vitamins, too. I feel a lot better when I do.

Thanks for the encouragement! I need all the boosting up I can get. I'm trying to drink more water, but I just don't like it plain. I'm going for herbal teas a lot, with no sugar.

That guy in the video isn't overweight! Sheesh! ;-)

By the way, 25 pounds overweight isn't obese. It depends on your height, but at, say 5' 5", you'd have to be about 45 to 65 pounds overweight to be considered obese, according to the BMI charts. Anyway, that's what I tell myself -- I'm overweight, not obese! ;-)

You are not a failure! But fasting and fad diets won't help you keep weight off. I lost 20 pounds earlier this year and have kept it off for 6 months. Know how? By eating. A lot. Whole grains, vegetables, meats, cheeses and, yes, the occasional dessert (in other words, by cutting out processed foods). By drinking a lot of water rather than sodas (my one indulgence), and by making exercise a regular part of my life. If I can lose weight, anyone can! Have faith and don't give up, but please don't starve yourself!

Dieting sux, royally, it truly does. However, you are doing it for more than just a desire to lose weight. Adjusting what you eat is for your health as well. Plus, you are fighting depression. All of that combined would drive a saint to cuss.
Seriously though, I think you are sounding like someone who is too low on fuel. You need something to boost your energy, and I don't mean chemically. Try to trick your eyes, if you want to be drinking more. I keep those cute little bottles Sprite came in on my comp desk, filled with water.. my eyes see " Sprite"...my mind thinks " goodies !!".... and I drink healthy stuff. The green , sparkly little 12 oz. bottles look so tiny; easily emptied. I fill 8 of them with water and set them all on the same shelf in my fridge, and as I drink one , I refill it and rotate it to a lower shelf. No counting to see if you drank 6 bottles of water. When it gets boring, yes, I dump in flavorings.

But what did you tell me before?..you like your veggies, but need more protein. I think you are still fudging on the protein. Get up, woman !!. take care of yourself, I enjoy reading your rants .. ** chuckles and leaves a hug **

LOL...yes, Richard was a lifesaver to me as well. I bought shoes he designed when I was nearly crippled with foot pain. The shoes had just the right amount of cushioning for me, and my feet heeled. I had stress fractured heels.
I love raw veggies, too. Go french.." crudites " ( croo-dee-tez ) and make them sound exotic. * grins* I'm supposed to be cutting out salt. Ever taste salt free peanut butter on salt free bread??..wallpaper paste on cardboard comes to mind. Trying to eat packaged food while watching the details is mind-boggling, so for me, fresh is my only choice.

Thanks for the great tips. I did reward myself with a candy bar the other day, just Reese's peanut butter cups, the small pack (2). I ate it while walking back from the store, so I probably walked it mostly off.

I know that I don't eat enough, and I don't drink enough especially. I've got to force myself to drink more. I just don't get thirsty. I don't know why.

The juice fast is more to try to finish up with cleansing than for losing weight, actually. I have lupus, and I need to be as "non-toxic" as I can.

I'm actually a raw food freak. I love raw fruits and veggies, and if I could, that's all I would eat. Unfortunately, I have to have a protein source, and eating nuts all the time just doesn't appeal to me.

I just keep remmbering Richard Simmons saying "The first word in diet is "die". LOL
