Day 3 - 11/19/2008

Again, I’m not hungry all day until about 7 p.m., then I’m famished! I swear, I could eat the keys off the keyboard!

I talked to my friend who is all into healthy living and fasting and she said that if I absolutely have to eat something, eat celery or plain iceberg lettuce. Both of those are nothing but fiber and water, and won’t hurt the fast. So I bought celery today, and just got through eating a stalk.

O.K., this next part is potty stuff, so you might not want to read it if it offends you.

The laxative I took last night didn’t work too well, and I had to wait until almost 2 p.m. to do my salt water flush, because I went shopping with a friend. Since I don’t have a car, I have to go whenever she’s going.

Well, the salt water flush really worked this time! I was supposed to go for a walk with her at 4, and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to go. I finally went, and thank heaven she was busy with something and I had to wait, because I had to hit the bathroom twice while I was there. I managed to make it around the block (1.3 miles) without any incidents, but I had to head for the bathroom as soon as I got in the door.

I’m drinking the lemonade in 16 oz. sizes now, instead of the 8 oz. cups. I figure it will make me drink more of it. I’m drinking one now, and have one more to go to make my 6 cups for today. No way am I going to make it to 8, since I got such a late start. Well, maybe if I stay up late.

On the up side, I lost a pound already. I’m sure it’s only water, but hey, it’s gone! My friend says I should lose at least 5 -7 lbs. by the end of the 7th day (one week). I know that’s only water, because you can actually lose 5 lbs. in a week just by not eating salt.

I’m going to start power walking tomorrow. I’ve been too wrapped up in personal stuff to think about it for the last three days.

All in all, not a bad day. I’m happy with it. I do hope the hunger goes away by tomorrow. I’ve been craving french fries something awful!
